Journey Doodles

Our love for doodles began when we went in search for a puppy to grow up with our daughter, Journey.

Our first Goldendoodle was Jizo (Gee-zo), and it was definitely love at first sight. Jizo was named after the Buddhist protector of women and travels, and he is certainly our Journey Girl’s protector. He was the most intelligent, loyal, and loving dog, ever, and of course, he loved his sister the most.

Since then, we have done lots of research and come to realize that this is the norm for Goldendoodles. They are known for the loyalty and friendliness of the Golden Retriever and the intelligence and athleticism of the Standard Poodle. This is where it all began, hoping to share our family’s experience with all of you.

Journey and Jizo, are our reason for all of this.

Jizo passed in 2020, on the 4th of July. His fear of fireworks caused him to go into anaphalactic shock. He held on, until we got home, to see his Journey girl one last time. He will be forever missed.

We have since begun researching canine anxiety and have started introducing all of our puppies to noise stimulation, in order to obtain resistance to sudden noises such as fireworks, bad weather, etc.

And now…

We breed Bernedoodles, as well!

In the last 5 years, we have fallen in love with doodles of all sorts and with breeding. As the market for Goldendoodles became saturated, we began to look into other types of doodles and research their differences. At last, we decided on a Bernedoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog x Poodle) for their extreme intelligence and wit. Not only is our Bernedoodle, Tulli, the most intelligent dog that we’ve ever owned, but she is also just as sweet and friendly. Before her first litter had even gone home, it was obvious to us that the Bernedoodles were going to be a keeper!
